Bi-Annual Peer-to-Peer Social Awareness Seminars

Overview
The Bi-Annual Peer-to-Peer Social Awareness Seminars began as an initiative within the English department at Idalion Lyceum. What started as classroom group presentations evolved into a powerful platform where students explore, research, and present on socially relevant topics — in English — to their peers.Inspired by the quote:
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”the seminars aim to put students at the center of learning - as researchers, collaborators, and presenters.
Benjamin Franklin

A Message from Mrs Anna Lytra, Youth Officer of Cyprus Youth Board
As a youth organization, we congratulate Mrs Valentina Karashiali on this excellent initiative, which places young people at the centre and gives them the opportunity to engage with issues that concern society—especially the younger generation—such as mental health, homophobia, and bullying. The interest, enthusiasm, and teamwork demonstrated by the students, under the guidance of their teachers, in organizing and presenting these seminars is remarkable.
The knowledge, skills, and attitudes that young people acquire through participation in such initiatives are valuable tools for their personal, social, and future professional lives. They become active contributors to building a better tomorrow—for themselves and for society as a whole.
