Cyprus EU Presidency 2026

Exploring the Cyprus EU Presidency 2026 through English for European Citizenship is a programme designed to promote students’ critical thinking, creativity, initiative, and active participation through the exploration of important European issues and priorities. The main priorities of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union for 2026 are centred around the motto An Autonomous Union – Open to the World. As part of the programme, schools developed a variety of interactive activities, including discussions, presentations, debates and collaborative projects connected with the main themes of the Cyprus Presidency, such as security, competitiveness, migration, green transition, digital innovation, and social inclusion. Through these activities, students strengthened their English language and communication skills, gained a deeper understanding of European values and policies, and became more active and informed European citizens.
