Think Tanks
The first "Think Tank workshop", which was successfully held on 22 March 2025, was primarily organised to encourage English language teachers to critically reflect on their teaching practices and explore ways of making the teaching-learning process more inclusive and engaging for all students. Emphasising the principles of differentiated instruction and learner autonomy, the "Think Tank workshop" aimed to foster a deeper understanding of how to design lessons that address diverse learner needs. Drawing on key frameworks such as the CEFR and the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework, teachers had the opportunity to create meaningful, skills-based learning activities. The workshop provided a platform for collaboration, with teachers working in groups to develop lesson plans and share effective strategies, thus engaging in professional dialogue, exchange of ideas, and co-construction of practical resources for their lessons. Most importantly, the workshop enhanced the ongoing professional development of educators and contributed to a stronger, more collaborative English language teaching community. The Think Tank concept was originally conceived by the Inspectress of English, Ms Elena Paraskeva, as a platform to promote collaboration and creativity among English language educators.
