European Day of Languages

On 26 September, the European Union celebrates the European Day of Languages, highlighting the joy of language learning and its vital role in bridging cultures. This occasion invites people of all ages to explore new languages and, perhaps, find inspiration to begin learning one.
Launched in 2001, the initiative is supported by the Council of Europe, the European Commission, schools, and cultural organisations. It promotes the celebration of Europe's rich tapestry of languages. and emphasises that language learning can be both enjoyable and empowering. The European Day of Languages is a powerful reminder of how language connects us - not just through words, but through shared stories, values, and perspectives.
